Detection and removal of malicious software is easier said than done. If you are an advanced user, chances are that you will know how to protect your computer against these pests but still there is no guarantee you wont catch them.
Detection and removal of spyware and adware can be done at no cost. You can do this with the help of special programs, which will guard your computer against these threats. Do not underestimate malware unlike spam (which might be unpleasant but cant ruin your life, adware and malware can.
Well, what can Internet users do to defend themselves against spyware and malware? The good news is that there are reliable programs. But on the other hand, sometimes the fix is too painful.
For example, last week I downloaded a free program that was supposed to help protect my computer. Of course, the software found tons of unsolicited files that needed to be cleaned off my hard drive, immediately, if not sooner. Unfortunately, the only way the "free" program will work is if I invest $50 in the full version of the software. What a rip off!
But this was not all. I closed the program but even then it continued to nag me with messages such as somebody might be spying you, there is an identity theft risk for you and similar. This was pretty annoying but still it didnt make me pay for the full version. Instead, it convinced me that the solution was to delete the program.
Imagine my surprise when a message informed me that access is denied! My computer and my files, and I cannot add or remove programs of my choosing! Want to bet? In the end, I had to do a system restore to a point in time prior to downloading the program that is supposedly designed to prevent such problems.
This unpleasant experience motivated me to search for a malware detection and removal program I can trust. Out of the many programs I tried, Ad-aware came as the best one. Since my budget is not big, I am really happy to have for free the version from last year. But the Pro and Plus versions are not expensive and I suppose they have more features and perform a more thorough scan.
In fact, only restoring the computer to a time prior to the download fixed the problem. Essentially, the program is the exact type of problem people need to watch out for, when downloading software, especially if it is free. Sometimes, it is worth it to visit a trusted site and pay for the ability to remove computer program and spyware.
In short, if you spend any time at all visiting the Internet, your computer can use malicious software spyware and adware detection and removal. Despite best efforts, it is like a house without a screen door. The occasional bug will get into your computer, and you will need to get out the software fly swatter.
